Bad Touch at Annoyance

Tuesdays are usually All Skate rehearsal, but for various reasons rehearsal was cancelled.
So Mike & I went to Fat Cat and then to Annoyance to see Bad Touch & Davey Dickrocket. Both were enjoyable.

After the show, Pat Raynor asked us to go joy riding with him. In my car.
Mike: Do you just want a ride home?
Pat: No, it's a joy ride.

Christmas.

I spent Christmas with Adal and some of his family & our friends.

Dan Gordon, who is Jewish, loves Christmas more than anyone I have ever met. He couldn't stop giggling. Or eating. I kept asking him what it was about it and all he would say was "It's Christmas!"

I received some great gifts this year, best of all tickets to see MSI in March. They are my favorite band, most people either love them or hate them. Or have never heard of them. I'm super excited to see them.

Dinner at Scoozi.

For tonight's dinner, Adal's mom took us to Scoozi, an Italian restaurant that featured a delicious fare.
It was fun and nice, I miss seeing my family a little more every year. It's hard on me, but I think it's even harder on them.

As an exciting side note, today I applied for my all-time dream job. Cross your fingers for me.

Adal & I celebrated Christmas last night, complete with presents & baking cookies.

It turns out that even though Adal's mom is an excellent cook, he never really cooked anything with her. It was pretty cute watching him figure stuff out. Or gross-cute for some of you. I know how gross-cute we are.

Afterwords we played the new Scrabble game that was one of my Christmas presents. It has wheels and the whole board rotates! Adal kept getting vowels again, but still managed to beat me.

Here are some of the cookies we decorated - guess which one is my favorite.

Updates

I know, I know.
I have gotten so behind on this blog. Below are some entries from the past 2 weeks.
I will try to stay on top of it, but it's hard when I'm not in front of the computer all day.

That's right - still no job.

All Skate had a show tonight, immediately followed by the iO Holiday party.
It was also the night of the worst snow EVER.
Alright, probably not ever but it was pretty horrifying to walk from The Playground to iO afterwords. My 3rd winter here and my first winter with snow boots. Snow boots are amazing.

The iO party was fun, as always. Everyone seems so happy and drunk. Mostly drunk.

Adal slipped and fell on the ice today, spraining his ankle. Pretty badly, it grosses me out to look at.

Among my many fears lies the fear of seeing someone's bone come out of their skin. Obviously this was not the case with Adal, but when he called me to come get him it was all I could think about.

"Maybe he's lying. Maybe I'll get there and jagged bones will be coming out of his ankle. No. He would have told me. Wouldn't he? He would. No wait. Would I tell him? I would. If the bone was sticking out he would have been throwing up, right? Right."

And yes, I will always assume that if your bone breaks and comes out of your skin you immediately start vomiting.

Well we finally opened. At least, we had our first preview. It went much, much better than I had anticipated. So that was nice. It still needs some work. But we have til January to get it were it needs to be.

Before the show Adal, Andi, & I attended the annual Toys for Tots party thrown by Cesar, who we apparently just missed. It was great though, we were there pretty early & there was already a huge stack of presents for the kids.

After the show, we headed to Mel & Amy's lovely, wonderful, delicious Christmas party. Fueled with the energy I haven't spent working, we managed to stay until after 3. Pretty impressive, especially for Andi, whose cat allergy remained largely in check. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of 'Step Into Christmas'. So this will have to do.

Pudding-Thank-You at ATC

I spent most of this week dancing and prepping for the HouseCo show to open on Saturday, so by Friday night I felt I had earned some time off.

I spent it watching "Dragon Defense" aka Owl Farm & Pudding-Thank-You perform at the ATC theater. The set was brand new - it's a radio station for 'It's a Wonderful Life - The Radio Play'.

I had a nice time, except that Dan was drunk enough to start rubbing his hand on my face. I hate that. Really a lot.

Dan: Don't you know I like to be touchy when I'm drunk?
Me: Don't you know me at all?

He quickly diverted his attention to talking about how attractive the other guys there were, kissing Louie, and vehemently denying that he was gay. You be the judge.

My "Office"

That's right - still job searching.
Last time I was unemployed, I spent a great deal of time watching Seinfeld dvd's and sleeping on my couch.
This time I have resolved to be productive. I get up to drop Adal off at work and then I stay up. I come over to Dan's to search for jobs & apply & suspect that many of these job ads are scams. But I'm up and I'm doing it.

I still take a nap later. I mean, I'm only human.
