I'm a little homesick today. I wish it wasn't so expensive/complicated to go home for a weekend.

Complicated because my parents are divorced and I always panic on how to divide my time while I'm there. I know they want to see me more/longer than they get to & it's not really fair to any of us.

Expensive because, you know, airlines love money.

The Rabble had a wicked fun show last night.

One of the scenes went a little low-brow, and the young'n (he's 17) excitedly made a toilet humor joke.

Afterwards, as Griggs gave us our notes, Zach explained that he spent a lot of time in that scene hesitating, trying to decide if he should do his toilet bit.
Griggs: You were clearly so excited to do it though, because you gave yourself an intro.
Zach: Yeah...I couldn't decide if I should do it, but then I just did.
Griggs: Maybe hesitancy is God's way of telling us that we're about to do bad improv.

Happy Fun Weekend

I try not to make these entries a journal of 'here's what I did'. But I did have an exceptionally fun weekend.

So here's what I did:

Friday I went out with Andi & her friend from high school who used to be smart. He joined a frat and now talks like a 12 year old girl. Here are some examples:
'I could totes go for some snuggies' translation: I want to snuggle.
'You guys musta been hungs' translation: You guys were hungry.
'If I come over it's gonna be a total snugfest.'
And no, there was no snugfest.

Saturday, the MAD house had a cookout, which was super fun. Even though it was coldish out. That night Adal sat-in with Whirled News. He did great.
Even later that night Twisty played in the Improv Rebellion and fulfilled one of my improv dreams. We got a suggestion of a real movie and tried to act it out from memory. The movie: Seven. It was about 50/50 on who in the cast had seen it. My favorite scenes were the ones that had nothing to do with the real movie.
Logan Hall & Tim Racine sat in with us, they were fantastic.

Sunday I played in the Grasshopper anniversary show. The lovely Ryan Heywood asked me to play in a new format: 1 veteran, 1 alumni(me), and 2 current students. There were 3 groups of 4 who performed for about 12 minutes each.

It was bunches of fun, my group included Pat O'Brien(vet), Jenna Newsome(student), and Brett(student, I didn't catch his last name). We did our entire show through the doorways and windows on the dct stage. We never went out further than that. Complete and silly fun.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, I totally bought that iPod.
